Gonna blog about an interesting review tdy. Went to eat Soon Huat Bak Kut Teg w my bf th other day & I came to know that th founder of this place, Jabez Tan was actually an ex convict & this eatery which was built up by him hires ex-offenders & former drug addicts with the aim of helping them reintegrate into the society. Its existance was only built up in 2 years with its spirit of excellence was nationally recognised.

Soon Huat was formally located at Jalan Kayu, but now currently at Simpang Bedok & also Macpherson Road. As usual, we ordered quite a lot, more thn what we both can eat. We ordered one of their signature Bak Kut Teh soup ($5.90) which consists of pork ribs, pig liver, pig stomach, beancurd sheets, lettuce & golden mushrooms! I love their soup, basically a mixture of Malaysia & Singapore style. We also ordered th Pig Intestine ($6), Tau Pok ($1.80), You Tiao ($2) & Mee Sua ($1.50). Yummy!

I love their service too! Jabez is super friendly & despite him being th boss, he did a lot of work in his shop just like any other workers there! Will definitely come back to try out more nxt time, esp their DRY Bak Kut Teh which I have missed out!
